Parish Treasurers
Thank you to all those who are serving God and their local church community through the Office of Parish Treasurer. Parish Treasurers perform an important role in the life of a parish.
Election and duties
Treasurers are elected in accordance with Section 35 of the Parishes Regulation Canon. The duties and responsibilities of a Parish Treasurer are outlined under Section C.9.7 of the Parishes Regulation Canon.
Qualifications
Whilst having formal qualifications is advantageous for anyone in the role, treasurers are not required to be qualified accountants or trained bookkeepers.
Financial systems
Xero is the preferred accounting software for parishes in the Anglican Church Southern Queensland.
