About this site
“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5.14-16
As followers of Jesus Christ and leaders within God’s church, we are called to be both faithful and effective. As Jesus illustrates to his disciples in Matthew 5.14-16, not only are we light receivers but we also have a responsibility to be light givers. Just as a light shines more effectively on a lampstand, we too should look for ways to let our light shine in broader and more intentional ways. Being a light demonstrates faithfulness, while shedding it widely demonstrates effectiveness — we are called to do both.
